Grandma...

My grandma passed away peacefully on 30th Dec 2005 at 1834hrs in Tan Tock Seng Hospital at the age of 85. I was by her side when her breathing stopped. I immediately called my dad who was sitting at one corner in the ward... The nurses checked on her pulse and pushed in the "heartbeat monitoring machine" and after sometime, she informed that her breathing stopped but her heart was still beating, and asked us to prepare.. The feeling of seeing her go is painful... All we could do was to stand by her bed, held her hands, tears kept flowing uncontrollably, seeing her heartbeat getting weaker and face and hands turned pale, and slowly, she left us.

Her wake was at Singapore Casket, Emerald room from 31st Dec 05 till 2nd Jan 06...Yesterday was the funeral and her body was cremated at Brighthill Kong Meng San.
This morning, Wei came and picked me & my parents, Yong & Jenny up to the temple to retrieve her ashes and settle my granny's urn. The feeling of seeing her body burnt into almost ashes is very painful... There are some remains of bones and her sculpt which were not burnt into ashes, the monk asked each one of us to use the chopsticks to pick up 1 piece each and put it into the urn.

My granny is gone... We cannot meet her in heaven... Sigh... Yong said that it's our greatest regret that we did not share the Gospel with my granny when she was alive that she left being a non-believer...

But thank God that she left peacefully, without any struggle......She will rest in peace and we all will miss her dearly............
