Company Rules??

Was rather "pissed off" when I returned to work yesterday due to one of the "clause" in the company rules which I didn't know since my 4yrs there..

I was on leave from 30th Nov till 6th Dec (am) leave... As I wasn't feeling well on 6th, I gave up going for my Law paper and went to consult a doc in a private clinic which is a stone's throw away from my home. Consulted the doc, he gave me 1 day's mc for that day...

When I returned to work yesterday, HR personnel queried me abt my mc.. whether it was from shenton or shenton affiliated clinics. I replied no, it's from a private clinic. Never did I know that my half day leave on 6th Dec could not be offset/credited back to me when I was given the mc from a private clinic! My blood was boiling and feel that my half day leave is "eaten" by the company! How can there be such a ruling that whenever a staff is on leave and happened that he/she is sick, he/she should visit a Shenton or Shenton affiliated clinic in order for that mc to be valid and the leave to be offset/credited back to the staff. My argument is that who, in the "right" mind would bother which clinic to visit when that patient is so sick? I actually replied to my HR side whether is there a clause or policy on this issue, she showed me the clause which was in our "HR Matters" for staff. OK, there goes my half day leave. Many of my colleagues do not know about this "rule"... So, a LESSON learnt for me, ie. go visit Shenton or Shenton affiliated clinic if you happen to be sick and on leave!!! *SIGH*

Today, my colleague who is in-charge of updating our dept's mc, called up HR and asked what would be the status of my leave and mc to be appeared in the SAP. She said it would reflect that I was on half day am leave and half day pm leave... Silly right? hahahaha........ I have nothing to say but laugh at it...

What a silly "Clause" the company had come up with!
