Things just happened this way...
On friday 23 Sep, around past midnight (ie 24 Sep), my grandma had a fall in the living room while she was closing the sliding window. She had not done so previously, and so happened that night, maybe due to the cold wind, she wanted to close the window. All of us, my parents and myself were sound asleep. Heard my parents talking softly and my grandma's moaning, in order not to alarm me...I wanted to go out of my room and see what happened but I was afraid (I have never seen any incident happen, so was rather terrified to find out what happened...I know I was wrong..*sigh*)
After sometime, my brother came back from work... Then I opened my room door and went out and I saw my grandma sitting on the sofa, the left side of her forehead was bruised and her left arm had knocked onto something and caused it to bleed profusely... As my grandma has got low blood platlettes count, and the blood was bleeding continuously, she was moaning and complaining that her left leg was in pain and couldn't move, my brother suggested that we call for an ambulance. After waiting for about 15 min for the ambulance, it arrived with 3 medics (1 female and 2 males), mainly the female attended to my grandma and assured her that she's alright. Then they put her on the cloth-like stretcher and needed my brother's help to carry to the lift so that they can convey her to the hospital. As the ambulance can only take 1 family member, my mom followed the ambulance and my dad took a cab down. Both me and my brother stayed at home and cleared the mess of blood-stained tissues and towel...
My parents came home around 8+ in the morning and was told that my grandma's left hip bone was cracked and needed operation...
Yesterday, after my grad project discussion, I went to Tan Tock Seng Hospital to visit my grandma. When I entered the 6-bedded ward, I saw my grandma lying there helplessly and sadly, I can somehow feel the pain that she is going through, with bandages on both her lower arms and all the needles poking for her drips and a kind of respiratory tube was placed in her nose for oxygen as the nurse told us that she lack of oxygen... It really pains me to see what the 86-yr-old is going through. When the dinner is served, we tried asking her to eat but she just refused to eat. She was complaining pain on her leg and we just have to coax her into drinking a bit of milo before the nurse could give her the painkiller... We stayed there for about 2 hours and around 8, we decided to make our move.
Wei drove me to northpoint as I have to catch THE MYTH at GV with 2 of my friends.
When I came back from the movie, I felt something amiss, that's my grandma... The sofa-bed was folded and I miss her presence somehow. All the thoughts just flowed through my mind and tears just welled up my eyes and I cried........Wonder can she sleep well in the hostpital, does she miss us too?
May God uphold and strengthen my grandma...
